Kakao implements user protection policies to make a digital environment where anyone and everyone can use its services with confidence. In accordance with applicable laws and regulations and its operational policies, Kakao monitors and takes action against illegal and harmful content, as well as other content that interferes with the safe and responsible use of its services. Kakao also provides various user protection features to help create a safe environment for its users.

Kakao strives to create a safe digital environment where all users, including minors, can use its services with confidence.
Kakao also takes appropriate action, through legitimate procedures, against illegal or harmful content and conduct, including content harmful to minors, abusive language used to slander or insult others, discrimination or incitement to hatred based on region, disability, gender, or other characteristics, and other conduct that causes discomfort or harm to others.

User restrictions
Kakao imposes graduated restrictions on users who violate relevant laws and regulations, its operational policies, or other users’ ability to use its services appropriately, depending on the type and severity of the violation.
Restrictions are applied in proportion to the circumstances of each case, ranging from restrictions on posting or commenting to temporary or permanent suspension of service access. Where necessary to prevent further harm and maintain a safe service environment, Kakao also implements user protection measures.

Automatic blocking by SafeBot (AI)
Kakao uses SafeBot’s AI-powered automatic filtering technology to analyze various types of content in real time and detect harmful content. In accordance with applicable service policies, appropriate measures—such as replacing profanity and hiding harmful content—are automatically applied to detected content, helping provide users with a safe service environment. Kakao also continuously improves detection accuracy through a combination of AI and human monitoring.
